3 day / 2 night Komodo Island Hopping Cruise with Hype Trip

One of the most asked about tours I’ve done so far.

Entering Labuan Bajo you are spoilt and overwhelmed for choice with how many travel agents there are all trying to sell you a Komodo Island Hopping trip and they’ll all guarantee to give you good a “very good price” and “best tour in town”. There’s dozens of boats and tours to choose from all offering a very familiar itinerary. The price, well that can vary vastly depending on how good your bargaining skills are.

We stumbled on this tour quite randomly actually. The business doesn’t seem to advertise online much or have a stall in town like other travel agents. I think it’s more of a privately run tour maybe directed towards more locals. The business instagram @hypetrip is also very vague on tour details and appears to be more of a photography page as opposed to tour company. Kinda strange but at first glance but nonetheless, the tour was great and I’m so happy we chose to go with them.

There were only six passengers on board, four lovely local Indonesian girls and Michelle and I alongside our guide and the boat crew. The crew didn’t speak much English and the guides English was so-so, he did really well considering he had two English speakers on board and probably didn’t understand us a lot of the time.
